Regional Cities Funds Nearly Tapped in NE Indiana

Northeast Indiana is nearing the end of the line for its Regional Cities Initiative funding commitment from the Indiana Economic Development Corp. Our partners at WPTA 21 in Fort Wayne report around $8 million remains of the $42 million pledged to the region.
Six other projects are currently awaiting approval, including $5.3 million requested by the city of Fort Wayne for the $20 million first phase of the Riverfront Redevelopment. Parks Department Director Al Moll tells WPTA 21 an additional $10 million from the city’s Legacy Fund is contingent upon receiving the Regional Cities funding.
Road to One Million Campaign Director Michael Galbraith says regional leaders wanted to get the money into the community quickly to "really put a shock into the system."
WPTA 21 reports additional allocations could be announced this month or next. You can connect to the full story by clicking here.
