The Regenstrief Institute at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis has named Theresa Cullen co-leader of its Global Health Informatics Program. She previously served as chief medical informatics officer and director of health informatics at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. 

The Global Health Informatics Program has partnerships with health leadership organizations in dozens of countries including Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, Tanzania, Bangladesh and the Philippines. It works with international groups and philanthropic organizations to improve the health of underserved populations.

Cullen is a retired rear admiral with the U.S. Public Health Service, where she served for 26 years. She will also serve as an associate professor of family medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
