It includes a $280,000 cash gift and more than $250,000 to be used for Red Gold work force and student development at the school’s Anderson facility.
“Purdue Polytechnic and Red Gold have been great long-term partners because we both understand the importance of technology and technological skills in a global marketplace. We are grateful for the Reichart family’s most recent contribution to both Purdue and the Madison County community to make sure area students have access to both,” Purdue Polytechnic Anderson Director Corey Sharp said.
Red Gold says many of its employees have earned degrees while working in its food processing facilities in Elwood, Orestes and Geneva.
Meanwhile, Purdue says the $15 million project will include classrooms, maker space and room for advanced manufacturing companies. The Anderson facility is part of a statewide network that offers the same technology degrees available in West Lafayette.
