The company that distributes Red Bull products throughout the United States will establish operations in the Indianapolis area this year. Red Bull Distribution Co. says it will lease facilities in Marion and Hamilton counties and create nearly 40 jobs.
The company says the move will support continuing demand for Red Bull energy drinks, which are now available in more than 169 countries. The company says it will begin hiring this fall, with plans to be at full employment by the end of 2017.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered Red Bull Distribution Company up to $275,000 in conditional tax credits based on the job creation plans.
Red Bull was founded in the mid-1980s, and sold its first energy drink in Austria in 1987. Since then, the company has sold more than 60 billion cans of Red Bull, and now employs about 11,000 workers worldwide.
The company was the title sponsor of this summer’s inaugural Red Bull Air Race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Organizers say that event will return next year, with more details being released in the coming months.
