Governor Eric Holcomb says 18 regions of the state taking part in the $500 million Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative have an additional 30 days to submit proposals. Each of the regions spanning participation across 91 of the state’s 92 counties are gathering ideas and developing strategic plans to accelerate small- and large-scale growth within their communities.
The READI program was launched in May with the goal of creating projects and program to attract and retain top talent.
The governor’s office says regions now have until September 30 to submit proposals. Proposals will be reviewed throughout October and November, and first round investment decisions will be made and announced in December.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says READI is expected to attract at least $2 billion local public, private and philanthropic match funding.
