Raytheon Scores Military Contract

The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a nearly $460 million contract to Raytheon Co. in Fort Wayne. The contract calls for the production of cryptographic units for the U.S. Air Force.
The units are part of the VINSON/Advanced Narrowband Digital Voice Terminal Cryptographic Modernization program. The DOD says the new cryptographic units will "maintain function and capability of the existing VINSON and ANDVT ECUs to the extent allowed by the National Security Agency."
Work will be performed in Fort Wayne and Largo, Florida and is expected to be complete by December 2021. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in San Antonio, Texas is the contracting activity.
