Raytheon Lands $33M Military Contract
Massachusetts-based Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a $33.8 million military contract for its plant in Fort Wayne. The U.S. Department of Defense says the contract is for Airborne Warning and Control System Combat Identification Alpha Phase One efforts.
The DoD says the contract upgrades the current AWACS System to meet “evolving threat capabilities and to address diminishing manufacturing sources material shortages issues with the currently fielded AWACS System.”
The work will be performed in Fort Wayne and is expected to be complete by May 2022.
The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts is the contracting activity.
