Ranking: Northeast Indiana City Safest in State

The SafeWise report considered statistics from the 2015 FBI Crime Report and population data. Ligonier is number one in Indiana in this year’s ranking. The Noble County city of around 4,400 also topped the list last year.
SafeWise considered cities with populations of 4,000 and larger. It refined the results based on violent crime and property crime numbers in each city, then calculated the likelihood of a crime occurring per 1,000 citizens.
The top 20 from Indiana on this year’s list are:
