Purdue’s Latino Cultural Center Hires Director

She previously served as an assistant professor at Monmouth College. Olaru has also worked as an instructor at Brazil in Chicago. She earned her bachelor’s degree from DePaul University and her master’s in Hispanic literature with a minor in gender and women’s studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Olaru also studied in Mérida, México, and, as a McNair Scholar, conducted graduate-level research in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She will succeed interim director Rosa Acevedo Villarreal.
