The school says the $10 million Indiana Corn and Soybean Innovation Center is the only university-based facility of its kind in the country.
Purdue says the facility, which houses $5 million in equipment, will "play a crucial role in addressing global food security and revolutionizing agriculture." Phenotyping is the study of the physical characteristics of plants and how they adapt and react to the environment.
The phenotyping facility was spotlighted in January in our Life Sciences e-newsletter.
The dedication ceremony will be held at 10:45 a.m. Monday in West Lafayette. Purdue President Mitch Daniels will speak at the event, along with Jay Akridge, dean of the Purdue College of Agriculture and other leaders.
