Purdue to Announce New Institute

Officials from Purdue University will detail Thursday morning the creation of a new institute at Discovery Park. The announcement will be part of a symposium at the university featuring speakers who will discuss global security and defense innovation issues.
Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, chief scientist and executive director of Discovery Park, will be on hand for the announcement. No other details regarding the new institute have been released.
The interdisciplinary research park was launched in 2001. It covers 40 acres on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus. In 2014, Discovery Park surpassed $1 billion in generated sponsored research.
