Purdue Tech on ‘Tonight Show’

Technology developed by a Purdue University professor and two doctoral students was featured Monday night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The segment demonstrated two supersonic ping pong cannons, capable of firing ping pong balls at 920 miles per hour.
Kevin Delaney, director of visitor experience at the Museum of Discovery in Arkansas, made the demonstration. The cannons were loaned by Mark French, associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue. He developed the cannons along with students Jim Stratton and Craig Zehrung, who were in attendance during the show.
