Purdue Pharmaceutial Startup Changes Name
A West Lafayette-based pharmaceutical research company, based at Purdue Research Park, has changed its name to better reflect the company’s focus.
Purdue GMP Center Inc. is now operating as Parsolex GMP Center Inc. It’s doing business as Parsolex.
The company develops and designs a variety of medicinal products including tablets, hard gelatin capsules, semi-solids, and syrups for the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Parsolex Chief Executive Officer Alfonso Chang says the new name best describes the company as it combines the concepts of partnership, solutions and excellence.
“We believe that a name change is appropriate at this time due to the launch of our capital investment program to evolve our company’s capabilities to serve the pharmaceutical industry,” said Chang.
The company launched in 2004 and started operations in 2005 as The Chao Center for Industrial Pharmacy and Contract Manufacturing as an initiative of the Purdue Research Foundation.
“We are making significant investments in adding experts and professionals to our staff, analytical instrumentation, development technologies, and manufacturing equipment, as well as in renovating our West Lafayette facility so that we can better serve our clients with their evolving needs,” said Chang.
