Lin (pictured) department head of statistics. Also, Irena Swanson (pictured) has been named head of mathematics. Lin most recently served as distinguished professor of supply chain and statistics at Pennsylvania State University. Swanson previously served as professor of mathematics at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
Lin received his bachelor of science degree in mathematics from National Tsing-Hua University in Taiwan and his doctoral degree in statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a minor in computer science. Swanson earned her bachelor of science degree from Reed College and her doctoral degree in mathematics from Purdue University.
