Purdue University has lowered the cost of its online MBA program at the Mitch Daniels School of Business.
The university says the change, which will begin with the fall semester, aims to provide more opportunities to people to earn a master’s degree in business without leaving their jobs.
“Students are always searching for quality and value, and our online MBA provides both academic excellence and superior return on investment,” Dilip Chhajed, associate dean for master’s and online programs, said in a news release. “The program provides balance, allowing students to complete their courses online at their own pace, while creating a community of faculty and students from around the globe.”
The new tuition rate for residents is $728 per credit hour, about $35,000 in tuition cost to complete the program. That’s down from $1,250 per credit hour.
The nonresident cost is $748 per credit hour, down from just under $1,300 per credit hour. Tuition discounts are available for Purdue alumni, university employees and military veterans.
The university says that graduates of the Daniels School online MBA program have seen an average salary increase of more than $23,000 and more than half moved into roles with a higher responsibility in their current organization or at a new company. The program is ranked No. 7 in North America by CEO Magazine.
Tuition cost controls remain a point of emphasis at Purdue.
In April, the board of trustees endorsed a tuition freeze for undergraduate students for the 14th consecutive year, Inside INdiana Business reported. However, the university approved some fee increases associated with international and nonresident undergraduate students.
