Purdue Fort Wayne Acquires Land for South Campus

Purdue University Fort Wayne has officially closed on a three-story, 77,000-square-foot building and approximately 13 acres of land. The university paid $3.8 million for the property, which could become the new home for the Richard T. Doermer School of Business.

Previously home to Brown Mackie College, the Park 3000 building at 3000 East Coliseum Boulevard is located just southeast of the Main Campus and will become the university’s South Campus. The university says the acquisition was funded through a combination of donations and what the institution calls “other sources.”

The facility was originally designed to accommodate both administrative and academic use, has been well maintained, and is expected to require minimal renovation to ready it for occupancy. It includes approximately 565 parking spaces.

“We are thrilled to be able to move forward with our plan to expand the campus,” says Chancellor Ronald Elsenbaumer in a news release. “The condition and location of the building and the land are a perfect fit for our institution, and I am grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to make this dream become a reality.”
