Purdue Calumet Names Talent Search Leader
Purdue University Calumet has named Jimmie Sanders director of its Educational Talent Search program. He most recently served as academic manager for Columbia College of Chicago's Department of Humanities, History and Social Sciences.

Hammond, Ind. — A former Educational Talent Search program participant is the new director of Purdue University Calumet’s Educational Talent Search program.
Jimmie Sanders, who grew up in Gary and participated in Educational Talent Search at West Side High School, leads the federally-funded Purdue Calumet program. The program is designed to assist and encourage students from low income, first generation college backgrounds to graduate from high school and pursue higher education.
Sanders recently served as academic manager for Columbia College of Chicago and its Department of Humanities, History and Social Sciences. He also has held positions at Chicago State University and the University of Illinois.
A high school graduate of the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities of Muncie, he also holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and master’s degrees in sociology and human resources management from the University of Illinois.
