PUP Names New Executive Director

The Indianapolis-based People for Urban Progress Board of Directors has selected Andrea Cowley as executive director. Cowley, who most recently served as associate director for Dress for Success Indianapolis, succeeds PUP founder Michael Bricker.

The nonprofit "advances good design and civic sustainability by developing products and projects in connectivity, responsible reuse, and making," according to its website. In her new role, Cowley will continue work on ongoing PUP initiatives, including the Central State Connectivity Plan, IUPUI redwood reuse, and workforce development training, among others.

"We are excited to begin working with Andrea and were struck by her clarity of vision, philanthropic know-how, and her infectious positivity," said Bricker. "She comes with over a decade of non-profit management experience, is a committed relationship builder, and is deeply connected to Indianapolis’ many change-makers."

Bricker will remain with the organization in the role of director of public design. PUP says he will focus more specifically on project design and development, as well as serving as a brand champion for the nonprofit.

I know this from experience – my mother was diabetic, and my wife has had Type I diabetes since she was 13 years old....
