People for Urban Progress, or PUP, is moving from Fountain Square to the campus of the former Central State Hospital west of downtown Indy.
PUP Founder Michael Bricker says the new location will put the organization under the same roof as its resources, such as remnants of the roof of the old RCA dome used to make custom handbags and old seats from the former Bush Stadium which are being repurposed for bus stops throughout the city.
Bricker says the organization aims to make Central State the design hub for Indianapolis.
"We are co-locating with these design leaders and makers to create a place that can serve as a platform for discussion, collaboration, and constructive criticism around design, architecture, urbanism, making, and community," said Bricker. "And perhaps most importantly, a place that shows how Design matters for the future of our city"
Bricker says the organization plans to finish the move by June or July. You read more about PUP’s decision to move by clicking here.
