A group in Muncie is proposing the transformation of a brownfield site into a new industrial park and city gateway. The Star Press reports the property previously included the former Indiana Steel and Wire factory. The key components of the plan would be called Kitselman Gateway and the Kitselman Pure Energy Park.

DD Dannar LLC owner Gary Dannar is leading the effort. In 2013, Dannar planned to relocate his South Carolina-based mobile power station manufacturing operation nearby and create close to 290 jobs.

The total price of the proposal have not been tallied yet, but Muncie Redevelopment Commission Director Todd Donati tells the publication it could cost "million."

Construction could begin next year if approvals are met.

Plans also include a new bridge over the White River, new Cardinal Greenway Trailhead, shell building construction and housing redevelopment.
