The chief executive officer of Fishers-based Vibenomics Inc. says new contracts with the Indianapolis International Airport and Downtown Indy Inc. will have a wide-reaching impact. The company, which used to be known as Fuzic, will create "an all-encompassing, engaging environment" for travelers at the airport and people on Georgia Street in the city’s downtown through custom music and messaging. Vibenomics founder Brent Oakley says the partnerships will give "voice to a city’s personality."

In an interview with Inside INdiana Business Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman, Oakley described how the "radio" channel can be targeted at key visitors or around high-profile events like the annual FFA National Convention or Gen Con. The technology involves clients using the Vibenomics platform to select music and submit messages that will be read by the company’s voice actors from throughout the country to describe events, businesses or additional information relating to current goings-on.

"It’s a big deal that we now have our own audio channel," Oakley said. "Indianapolis basically has its own closed-circuit radio station to be able to advertise and let people know whatever’s going on in the city and that’s coupled with whatever’s going on at the airport." The partnership among the airport, Downtown Indy Inc. and Vibenomics is called Project High Note and will reach the 8.7 million airport passengers and more than 500,000 visitors to Georgia Street each year.

Vibenomics, which launched in 2016, says it currently operates in more than 800 locations that include stores, restaurants and family attractions.
