Pre-K Program Accepting Applications

Family applications for pre-kindergarten programs in Indiana are now being accepted. The programs are available to families in five pilot counties who may be eligible for grants for their children to receive pre-K education.
Families in Allen, Jackson, Lake and Vanderburgh counties applying for the On My Way Pre-K program must meet certain criteria. The family must have an income below 127 percent of the federal poverty level and the child must be four years old by August 1, 2016 and starting kindergarten in August 2017.
In Marion County, the same criteria apply, but additional funding is being made available by the city of Indianapolis through the Indy Preschool Scholarship Program. Families can apply to both the Indy PSP and On My Way Pre-K programs in one application, but the Indy PSP program adds eligibility in Marion County for children who are three years old and are from families living at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
Families have until March 25 to submit applications. Click here to find more information on applying in each county.
This is the second full year of the On My Way Pre-K program. Over 2,300 children are currently participating in the first full year and will begin kindergarten in August.
