Ports of Indiana hires two financial executives

Brian Burgess—a long-time financial leader in companies like Fiserv Education, SLM Corp. and Navient—has been brought on as the state port authority’s new chief financial officer.
Erica Jackson, who worked in other Ports of Indiana finance roles from 2019 to 2021, has been named vice president of finance. Prior to her work with Ports of Indiana, Jackson held accounting and human resources positions with Blue Ribbon Transport, Kemba Credit Union and Automotive Finance Corporation. She most recently worked with the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions.
“Brian and Erica bring top-tier leadership and financial experience to Ports of Indiana at a time when we’re facing several unique growth opportunities,” Ports of Indiana CEO Jody Peacock said in a news release. “We’re very fortunate to have two such high-caliber individuals on our team and we’re excited about the important roles they will play in guiding the future growth of our ports.”
The new hires come in the same year that Peacock was named CEO of the Ports of Indiana.
