Portillo’s Opens on Indy’s South Side

A popular restaurant that has made waves in Fishers is celebrating the opening of its newest central Indiana location. Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett joined Portillo’s Chief Executive Officer Keith Kinsey Monday to cut the ribbon on the restaurant, located on U.S. 31 on the city’s south side.
Portillo’s first announced plans for the south side location in February. The announcement came months after the much-anticipated opening of its location just off I-69 in Fishers. A third central Indiana location is currently in the works in Avon.
As part of the grand opening celebration, Portillo’s donated $5,000 each to the Greenwood Education Foundation and EmployIndy’s Jessica Brown Memorial JAG Scholarship.
