Poly-Wood Expanding in North Carolina

A manufacturer in Kosciusko County has announced plans to expand its operations in North Carolina. While financial details are not being disclosed, Syracuse-based Poly-Wood LLC says its new manufacturing and distribution center will create nearly 385 jobs over the next five years.
The company says the facility will allow easier shipment of its products to customers along the east coast. The building, on which renovations have already begun, is three times the size of Poly-Wood’s newest building in Indiana, which was completed in 2016.
Poly-Wood manufactures outdoor furniture made from recycled plastics. Chief Executive Officer Doug Rassi says the goal is to have the new location ready for distribution by the second quarter of 2019, when the company hits its seasonal peak. After that, the company plans to begin installing manufacturing equipment.
In addition to the manufacturing and distribution operations, the facility will also house a full reclamation center for all types of recycled plastics to be processed and reused in furniture manufactured on site. The plant will also sell recycled plastics to other businesses.
Poly-Wood was featured earlier this year in the Culture Matters segment of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick. You can watch the segment by clicking the link below:
