PODCAST: Creating Disruption in the Agbiosciences Sector IIB's Gerry Dick discusses the Forbes AgTech+ Under 30 Hackathon with Forbes organizers.

AgriNovus Indiana and the Indiana Economic Development Corp. are teaming up with business publisher Forbes to showcase some young minds who are seeking solutions in the agbioscience sector.

The organizations are hosting a virtual summit with the goal to create disruption and new ideas that will transform the industry.

In this week’s edition of the Ag+Bio+Science podcast presented by AgriNovus, members of the Forbes team explain Forbes AgTech+ Under 30 Hackathon.

“Together people and partners in communities that are solving challenges, helping the communities bringing together our partners and really exploring new ways and almost better ways that we can partner together,” explained Sherry Phillips, senior vice president of Forbes live events.

Responding to pandemic limitations, Forbes postponed its in-person AgTech+ Expo in Indianapolis, in which AgriNovus was a key partner.

The three-weekend event is designed to address issues related to a fragile supply chain exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the intersection of human and animal health and farm-to-fork availability.

Four teams will compete as they seek solutions to the challenges.

“The goal is to create a business and make something happen and really have significant change in the overall industry,” said Shauna Harris, director of integrated partnerships in the Midwest for Forbes.

Learn more about the hackathon in this week’s Ag+Bio+Science podcast presented by AgriNovus Indiana and hosted by Inside INdiana Business Host Gerry Dick.

The podcast will be available Monday morning. Click here for more information on how you can listen.
