A plastics recycling company in Anderson is seeking tax abatement as it considers a $1.5 million investment in its plant.
Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report Recycled Polymer Solutions will next month go before the Anderson City Council next month asking for the five-year abatement.
The paper says when RPS purchased the former Elston-Richards manufacturing property for $1.2 million in 2017, it received a five-year tax abatement on a planned investment of $1 million.
RPS used the money to purchase and install equipment to recycle plastics.
According to the publication, plant manager Gary Weaver said the company plans to hire an additional eight people once the new equipment is installed and could create up to 25 new jobs.
