The founder of a proposed minor league baseball team in northern Indiana says it won't begin playing this summer as previously announced. Construction has not begun at the Elkhart County Miracle stadium site. Craig Wallin tells The Elkhart Truth “we'll just shoot for 2015.”

The team is expected to join the Northern League of Professional Baseball, which has only announced the Elkhart organization and another in Iowa as league members.

Wallin says stadium construction is on track to begin this summer.

He is also awaiting the release of private venture capital funding, which has been stalled. The money will help close on the property and build the proposed 1,200-seat venue.

Wallin has been working for six years to try to bring professional baseball back to Elkhart County.
