Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the ThruPort Intermodal LLC project could eventually lead to over 200 jobs. Plans call for a new track loop, repair operations and storage warehouses.
The tracks would be built around the former Hammond landfill.
The Times reports the Florida-based Reliable Rail Services repair facility would be covered and large enough to service full trains with more than 100 cars.
