Plainfield Schools Shows Off ‘Imagination Lab’ Students have already completed their first "odyssey" at the center.

Plainfield Community School Corp. today hosted a community launch for what it calls a first-of-its-kind, high-tech learning center for elementary school students. The $5 million Imagination Lab boasts features including a 3-D printer, green screens and an outdoor learning garden.

The Imagination Lab is at Clarks Creek Elementary School in Plainfield, in a space originally built as a natatorium for a middle school. The district’s K-5 students will take part in activities, or "odysseys" at the center on a monthly basis, with the goal of making them "future-ready." Other features include sound booths, an artist-in-residence, a well-being studio and a technology, makerspaces and a "messy space."

The district says the lab will serve up to 240 students per day, and ultimately host evening, weekend and summer camps as well.
