Officials in Plainfield will Thursday celebrate the grand opening of the town’s first coworking space. Level Two, located on the second floor of The Shops at Perry Crossing, is designed to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the community.
The coworking space was financed through fundraising efforts and a large contribution from the town of Plainfield. The nonprofit says the space provides a tool for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and remote employees to have access to WiFi, a mailing address, and a unique work setting. It will also feature programming including workshops, training courses and networking opportunities.
"A lot of small business owners feel like they ‘are going at it alone,’" said John Anderson, board member of Level Two. "We wanted to establish a collaborative environment where these individuals and other like-minded people could experience a support system while attending seminars on how to run and grow their business."
The grand opening event is scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
