Pitch Competition Spotlights Need For VC
The managing director of Carmel-based Allos Ventures says today’s inX3 pitch competition is a crucial opportunity for some promising Indiana tech companies to show the sector’s strength in front of key venture capital firms. Don Aquilano says those firms will see that "we have an incredible ecosystem here and an incredible talent pool." Today’s competition will feature companies including DemandJump, Dattus and Hydro Grow LLC.
Access to venture capital continues to be a challenge, even in Indiana’s growing tech sector. Aquilano says that can be addressed in part through awareness from events such as inX3. He says the state must also promote success it has had with companies like Software Artistry, Aprimo and ExactTarget and shift resources to venture capital funds that will be active in Indiana, even if they are located outside of the state.
The companies pitching today at Union 525 in downtown Indianapolis include:
- 120WaterAudit
- Akanocure Pharmaceuticals, inc.
- Aubry Lane
