The owner of a Zionsville pie shop says she “can't keep up” with demand after a wave of national attention. My Sugar Pie has been featured in People magazine and a blog on Oprah.com. After teaching for 11 years, Kelly Maucere established the shop in 2008. She now has 20 employees and hopes to open a second location next year. The pies are available at several locations including St. Elmo Steak House in Indianapolis. Maucere discussed the company's successes during an interview on Inside INdiana Business Television. My Sugar Pie was Indiana's entry in People's “Food Gifts From Every State” feature. The shop's sugar cream pie was also named one of the best mail-order pies in the United States by CountryLiving Magazine.

Maucere says friends encouraged her to sell her pies. She worked with the Central Indiana Small Business Development Center to develop a business plan and perform marketing research.

My Sugar Pie offers more than 40 types of pie. It is also available at Harry & Izzy's and the Omni Severin Hotel in Indianapolis as well as the Cobblestone Grill in Zionsville.
