Officials from the Indiana Department of Transportation are set to take part in this afternoon’s event.
The announcement is set for 1:30 this afternoon at the INDOT Traffic Management Center on East 21st St. in Indianapolis.
Earlier this month, INDOT said its latest inspection showed more than 90 percent of roads and more than 95 percent of bridges were rated in fair condition or better. The department says both were increases over the previous inspection. They are conducted every two years for the Federal Highway Administration.
The issue of infrastructure maintenance was thrust into the statewide spotlight in August when the northbound lanes of I-65 between Lebanon and Lafayette were closed after concerns about the stability of the Wildcat Creek bridge.
