Pence, Buffett to Cut Ribbon on GEICO Center

Governor Mike Pence, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK) Chief Executive Officer Warren Buffett and GEICO leaders are set to cut the ribbon this morning on a major service center in Carmel. The Washington D.C. area-based auto insurer plans to hire 1,200 for the operation by 2016. GEICO is a Berkshire Hathaway company.

CARMEL, Ind. – Governor Mike Pence will join Warren Buffett, chairman and chief executive officer of Berkshire Hathaway, and executives from GEICO at 11 a.m. on Monday for a ribbon cutting ceremony at GEICO's new service center in the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

GEICO, the nation's third largest private passenger auto insurer, announced plans in March to invest millions of dollars to open its first Indiana customer service center in Central Indiana, creating up to 1,200 new jobs by 2016. The 109,000 square-foot office, which opened in late April, already houses more than 250 professional insurance agents, training and supervisory teams, additional management and support staff.
