Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Patena’s main focus for the chamber in the coming years will be growth.
Patena succeeds former President and CEO of nine years, Sue Reed, following her resignation.
Patena, former chairwoman of the chamber, most-recently served as director of meeting and event sales at Fair Oaks Farms. She also served as director of sales and marketing at the Radisson Star Plaza and worked for White Lodging for 16 years.
Patena told The Times she’s aiming to implement a mentorship program for new chamber members, an incentive program to boost and retain membership and hopes to diversify membership to include more Chicago and Michigan City representatives.
“We’re hoping to continue to build the chamber with more members,” Patena told the publication. “That’s the first thing that we’re kind of looking towards is really reaching out and expanding our regional opportunity.”
