The founder of Indianapolis-based Patachou Inc. is receiving national attention. Fortune, along with sister publication Food & Wine, includes Martha Hoover in its list of the 20 "Most Innovative Women in Food and Drink."
The fourth annual list features "women who had the most transformative impact in the last year on what we eat and drink." Hoover is ranked number 3 on the list. Her restaurant group includes a number of dining concepts, including Cafe Patachou, Petite Chou Bistro and Champagne Bar, Napolese Artisanal Pizzeria and Wine Bar and Public Greens.
Hoover is a three-time semifinalist for the James Beard Awards in the Outstanding Restaurateur category, including the past two years. In 2016, Hoover appeared on Inside INdiana Business Television, saying one of the company’s driving principles is sustainability.
"In terms of having an ecosystem that is Patachou, we have so many facets of the company that are really critical," said Hoover. "We really want to be set apart in terms of the quality of our food, the quality of our customer service and the quality of our service to staff and community."
Chef Action Network Founder Katherine Miller and Full Harvest Chief Executive Officer Christine Moseley are the only women ranked ahead of Hoover. You can view the full list by clicking here.
