Purdue says the partnership will bring YourEncore together with entrepreneurs and startups to put innovations from Purdue on the fast track to commercialization.
YourEncore provides experts, including former executives from Fortune 500 companies, who Chief Medical Officer Tim Franson says can provide entrepreneurs with the insight and connections to advance their technology and startups.. Dan Hasler, president of the Purdue Research Foundation, says the partnership "may be the most significant thing we’ve done" to help innovators bring their ideas to market.
"Purdue faculty, staff and students generate over 100 U.S. patents annually that represent hundreds of life-changing innovations," said Hasler. "Those technologies find their way to value creation through licensing to established corporations or to startups. These entrepreneurs are already receiving help through the Purdue Foundry. We want to build on this success and do even more."
Hasler said YourEncore can help startups identify the executive leadership needed to fill roles including CEO and CFO, but also in various parts of operation, such as business development, sales, marketing and manufacturing.
"We are impressed by the dramatic increase in entrepreneurship and technology commercialization at Purdue in the past few years, and believe YourEncore experts will be enthusiastic to apply their years of industry experience to help Purdue startups make critical decisions, fill resource gaps, facilitate investments or serve as executives," said Franson.
