Parkview Plans Regional Medical Center Expansion

The new facility will allow the hospital to add 72 inpatient beds. It will also include 63,000 square feet of shell space that will allow for future expansion plans to support expected inpatient and ambulatory care growth.
Parkview says its two Allen County hospitals continue to experience high volumes and limited bed capacity.
"The number of people who choose Parkview for their care continues to rise," said Mike Packnett, chief executive officer of Parkview Health. "We have deployed many initiatives to best meet these growing needs, including investments that have allowed for increased capacity at PRMC and Parkview Hospital Randallia. However, we find our Allen County inpatient bed capacity is insufficient to meet this growing demand."
Jessica Miller, public relations manager for Parkview, tells Inside INdiana Business the health system is in the very early planning phases and does not have an estimated cost for the project. However, she says the growth will support the need for additional jobs.
"We’ll work closely with our local and regional university partners as we begin recruiting nurses, advanced practice providers and other caregivers," Miller said. "We anticipate growth on the non-clinical side as well, especially as it relates to our patient support services."
A timeline for construction on the medical tower was not released.
