Georgia-based Pratt Industries says it is hiring 20 workers at its Valparaiso plant. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report the paper machine operator positions pay a starting salary of up to $55,000 per year. The company announced plans in 2013 to invest $260 million to build a recycling plant in Valparaiso and create nearly 140 jobs. Pratt also has a box-making facility and employs 280 in the city.

At full capacity, Pratt says the Valparaiso recycling plant produces an increased 360,000 tons of recycled paper each year.

The publication says Pratt Paper is the world's largest privately-held 100 percent recycled paper and packaging manufacturer.
