Pandemic Delays Plans for Terre Haute Music Venue

Our partners at WTHI-TV report say developers have been working to get regulatory approval to turn a portion of the former International Paper plant site into a music and event center.
The TV station says Tim Drake, owner of Show-Me’s restaurant and bar in Terre Haute, assembled a group of investors to redevelop the property.
In late February, the Vigo County Commissioners approved a long-term lease with a locally owned group.
But the pandemic has since forced government officials to postpone meetings to get the former industrial site rezoned.
“Man, the whole landscape of this could change,” said Tim Drake, project developer and restaurant owner. “Hopefully being open air is going to allow us to have some gatherings and numbers. Everything has changed, we really have no answers, and we are just waiting.”
Drake and his partners say if not for the pandemic, the project would be well underway. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s website says it is also closed because of the pandemic
