The Pacers will hold six "Decade Games" to celebrate each decade in the franchise’s history, as well as six additional "Hickory" games in honor of the 30th anniversary of the film Hoosiers.
The "Decade Games" will take place once per month. In honor of the celebration, Bankers Life Fieldhouse will be transformed with the games including halftime ceremonies featuring players, coaches and staff from each decade. Fans attending each "Decade Game" will also receive a bobblehead doll featuring a Pacers star from that decade.
The following games have been designated as "Decade Games":
- Nov. 12 vs. Boston Celtics – 1960s
- Dec. 10 vs. Portland Trail Blazers – 1970s
- Jan. 7 vs. New York Knicks – 1980s
- Feb. 11 vs. Milwaukee Bucks – 1990s
- Mar. 12 vs. Miami Heat – 2000s
- April 4 vs. Toronto Raptors – 2010s
The Pacers players will join the celebration by wearing shooting shirts inspired by each decade and 50th Season patches on their jerseys for all games this season. The team will once again don the Hickory uniforms in six home games as well in honor of Hoosiers.
Single-game tickets for the season go on sale September 29. The team will also host the Fan Jam once again on October 23, which is free and open to the public. The team says this is just the start of the celebration of the 50th season.
"This by no means is the complete show," said Todd Taylor, chief sales and marketing officer for the Pacers. "We have many activities and programs yet to come as we celebrate this very special season."
