Pacers Sports & Entertainment has acquired the naming rights to the fieldhouse at Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield. The former Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse is now known as the Pacers Athletic Center and will serve as the home of the Jr. NBA Pacers. Financial terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

The 88,000-square-foot facility features eight courts that can be used for basketball, volleyball, and futsal. The fieldhouse opened in January 2016.

The Jr. NBA Pacers are part of the Jr. NBA Flagship Network. Pacers Sports & Entertainment says the facility at Grand Park will June 15-17 host one of eight U.S. Jr. NBA Regional Championships.

"The Pacers started this season talking about how they grow basketball, and they do," said Pacers Athletic Center co-owner Mike Klipsch. "Kids aspire, growing up in Indiana, to be an Indiana Pacer someday, and our facility is all about teaching basketball to literally tens of thousands of kids every year. So it’s just a perfect fit."

Rick Fuson, president and chief operating officer of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, says the branding is a "natural extension" of the organization’s effort to promoting the growth of basketball in Indiana and underscores its commitment to youth basketball.

The Pacers are the latest franchise to become affiliated with Grand Park. Earlier this year, the Indianapolis Colts announced they would hold summer training camp at the sports campus for 10 years, beginning in 2018.
