Over 400 Teams to Converge on Grand Park The 400-acre complex features more than 50 fields.

Grand Park in Westfield will play host to a variety of athletes this weekend. The sports complex will welcome more than 400 teams participating in various competitions that are expected bring more than 22,000 spectators to the facility.

Friday through Sunday, Grand Park will host the Crossroads of America College Men’s Showcase. The three-day soccer tournament will allow players to showcase their skills in front of college coaches. It will feature 290 steams from 17 states and Canada.

Friday evening, the men’s soccer teams from Indiana University and the University of Indianapolis will compete in a friendly match. The event, which begins at 8:00 p.m., has a $1 admission charge, which is a donation to the Indiana Fire Juniors organization.

Beginning Saturday morning at 8:30, Westfield Youth Sports Inc. will celebrate its annual baseball and softball opening day ceremonies. Around 90 baseball and softball teams will participate and Westfield Mayor Andy Cook will assist with the first pitch.

"We always enjoy the opportunity to host local athletes as well as visitors from across the country," said Cook. "We’re looking forward to kicking off another great recreation and tournament season at Grand Park."

Grand Park will also host the Indiana Bulls Round Robin baseball tournament throughout the weekend. Thirty teams will participate in the tournament.
