The head of the state's orthopedic initiative wants to focus on improving links to higher education. OrthoWorx Chief Executive Officer Sheryl Conley, who recently completed her first year on the job, believes a focus on science, technology, engineering and math is key for the industry's future development. During an appearance on this week's Inside INdiana Business Television, Conley also touched on her goal of improving the Warsaw-based organization's connections to state resources. She says, historically, the industry has not been “very connected” with state resources.

Prior to beginning at OrthoWorx, she spent nearly 20 years with Warsaw-based Zimmer Holdings Inc. (NYSE: ZMH).

OrthoWorx has recently announced partnerships with educational institutions including Grace College, Ivy Tech and Warsaw Community School Corp.
