OrthoPediatrics Expands Internationally

Warsaw-based OrthoPediatrics Corp. (Nasdaq: KIDS) says it is expanding into the commercial market in the United Kingdom. The pediatric medical device manufacturer says it has launched two of its surgical systems in the U.K. after receiving regulatory clearance.

OrthoPediatrics says its is now offering its Pediatric Nailing Platform | FEMUR system, which is used to address pediatric femoral fractures and deformity correction procedures. The system was launched in the U.S. in 2018.

Additionally, the company has also begun the clinical use of its ApiFix system, which launched in the U.S. earlier this year. ApiFix is a spinal deformity correction system approved for use in certain patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

“Our continued international expansion represents our commitment to being the end-to-end provider of pediatric orthopedics solutions around the globe,” said Dave Bailey, president of OrthoPediatrics. “Our ability to provide innovative technology to pediatric orthopedic surgeons in their home markets is something I am very proud of, and as we head into the new year, we look forward to expanding our global footprint.”

Last month, OrthoPediatrics reported a third quarter net loss of $4.5 million. However, the company also reported record sales.
