New airline OneJet is adding nonstop flights between Indianapolis and Pittsburgh. The flights from Indianapolis International Airport are set to begin next month.

April 24, 2015

News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — OneJet today announced that it will expand its nonstop flights from Indianapolis International Airport (IND) with the addition of service to Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). The new flights are scheduled to begin May 11th and follow OneJet's April 6th commencement of service between Indianapolis and Milwaukee.

“We're excited to be expanding our service offerings in Indianapolis,” said Matt Maguire, OneJet president and chief executive officer at an airport press conference to announce the new flights. “We believe the market for regional nonstop travel to and from Indianapolis is strong and we've put together a network of aviation and technology partners to respond to that demand. Our goal is to provide our customers with a familiar airline experience but in a way that allows us to allocate our assets dynamically in response to demand. The combination means more choice for travelers to and from Indianapolis and – we believe – throughout the eastern U.S.”

“OneJet recognizes that Indianapolis is a strong destination for both business and leisure travelers and we're very happy to welcome them to our community,” said Mario Rodriguez, Indianapolis International Airport's executive director. “Today's announcement also is a testament to the diligent work of our business development team to keep IND at the national forefront of service innovation.”

Maguire and Rodriguez were joined at the press conference by John Porcari, former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Transportation, and John Pistole, the recently retired Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration. Both individuals serve as senior advisors to the OneJet program.

“Today's announcement is the next step in a multi-year, national initiative to introduce demand-responsive air transportation networks within the eastern U.S.,” said Porcari. “As OneJet service is introduced, communities such as Indianapolis will continue to see increased nonstop service and improved regional travel options, easily accessible via existing points of sale. This is truly an exciting day as we announce our expansion to Pittsburgh.”

The new flights will be offered four times weekly, Monday through Thursday, departing from IND at 7:00 a.m. and arriving PIT at 8:00 a.m. Return service from PIT will depart at 5:00 p.m. and arrive IND at 6:10 p.m. Flights will feature Hawker 400 aircraft operated by OneJet's regional operating partner, Pentastar Aviation.

Tickets for the new service are now available for purchase through select corporate and online retailers, including American Express Global Business Travel and Expedia.

OneJet plans to make additional service announcements as soon as May 7th.
