Tavern at the Point, which was previously the site of Old Point Tavern, is owned by Indianapolis-based Cunningham Restaurant Group. The company now owns and operates 27 locations in Indianapolis, Ohio and Kentucky, including several along Mass Ave.
The owners say the new location’s design and menu will pay homage to the Old Point Tavern and its former owners Chic and Patti Parrin, which took over the location in 1990. The location first received a liquor license in 1887.
Chef Andy Manes describes the menu as "really down-home country food, Midwest gourmet. It’s like a 1970s crossover country band."
