Executives from Evansville-based Old National Bancorp (Nasdaq: ONB) will today celebrate what the company calls a “transformational year” with the ringing of the closing bell at Nasdaq Stock Exchange in New York. In February, Old National completed its $6.5 billion merger with Chicago-based First Midwest Bancorp Inc.
Old National Chief Executive Officer Jim Ryan, Executive Chairman Mike Scudder and Lead Director Becky Skillman will be joined by other bank leaders in the bell ringing.
“On behalf of our nearly 4,000 team members, it is an honor to ring the closing bell,” said Ryan. “We often say our partnership has made us better together, and I firmly believe that what we achieved this year, we did together with our teammates, our communities and our clients.”
The combined organization operates under the Old National Bancorp and Old National Bank names and maintains dual headquarters in Evansville and Chicago.
Old National says this marks the second time Old National leadership has rung the closing bell and comes in advance of the company’s 188th anniversary in November.
