Officials to Cut Ribbon on Adult High School

Officials from Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana and the city of Shelbyville will cut the ribbon Wednesday on The Excel Center. The facility, which opened in August, provides opportunities for adults to earn a high school diploma tuition-free.
The Shelbyville location is the 11th Excel Center in central Indiana. Goodwill Industries operates other Excel Centers in Indianapolis, Anderson, Kokomo, Lafayette, Noblesville and Richmond.
The Excel Center offers a Core 40 diploma, dual credit classes and job certifications. The organization also covers tuition costs for students to earn their certifications or begin their undergraduate degrees at higher-learning institutions, according to its website.
Shelbyville Mayor Tom DeBaun will join Kent Kramer, president of Goodwill Industries of Central Indiana for the ribbon cutting ceremony, which is scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
